Throughout the course of this book I had several moments of pure clarity and a genuine challenge to my previously held beliefs that I found utterly fascinating. The most memorable part was actually realising that I can listen and be in the present and it is peaceful and calm. You will be distracted by Eckhart's accent.

Everyone in the world needs to read this book. Enlightenment requires no reminders, but I'm not there yet. Access to the Now is everywhere - in the body, the silence, and the space all around you. At least to me anyway. I have over 25 years of experience as a clinical psychologist. In so doing, we fail to see what is necessary right now, thus we make wrong choices and decisions which lead to untold suffering for self and others.
I keep it by my bed and re-read sections all the time. This is hands down the best self-help book I have ever come across, and can not fathom why the very simple and straight-forward concepts Tolle presents were never once mentioned in my grad school training or any of the countless professional development workshops I have attended over the years. He is a good author, I believe in most of the message, and this book is worth the credit. Very thankful for this book. His ideas are great and having implemented some of them already in daily life I feel a lot more positive than I have in the past. I am not one to read books. Definitely changes the way you think and how to see the world, however is frustratingly worded with unnecessarily more complicated words as if he used a thesaurus on every other word thinking it would sound more powerful. This has been the first time in many months I am not obsessing about the past of worrying about the future. I really enjoyed having the author narrate this. I have listened to it over and over and over again. I gave the book a 5 Star rating because I truly believe it had transformed my life and set me well and truly on the route to discovering and my soul and connecting with it. Enlightenment requires no reminders, but I'm not there yet. I read this book in two phases with about a month's break halfway through.
